How to remove location from iPhone photos
A photo can include GPS coordinates for where it was captured. Removing that location before sharing reduces accidental exposure of a home, workplace or private place.
Check before you share
Open the photo’s information view in Photos to see whether a map or location is attached. For a repeatable batch workflow, Clear inspects only the photos you select and reports how many contain location data.
Create a separate private copy
Clear removes supported location and EXIF fields while creating a new copy. The original remains unchanged, so you keep your personal library intact.
When this is useful
- Photos taken at home or work
- Children’s photos
- Marketplace listings
- Travel photos shared publicly
