Does WhatsApp Share Photo Location Metadata?

Why this matters
Sending an image as a compressed photo is not necessarily the same as sending its original file as a document.
Metadata is separate from the visible scene. Removing it does not hide faces, addresses, reflections, landmarks or text that appears in the image itself.

Messaging apps change frequently, so inspect a received test file instead of relying on a universal claim about WhatsApp.
